LAS VEGAS ( FOX5 ) — A 26-year-old man is in custody after shooting his mother and sister in the southwest valley Sunday, police said.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department responded to the 7800 block of West Ford Avenue around 5:27 p.m., where they located two women suffering from gunshot wounds inside a residence. One of the woman was pronounced dead, while the other was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

26-year-old Jacob Lister was identified as the gunman, as well as the son and brother of the victims.

Lister was arrested near the scene on charges of open murder and attempted murder, according to police, and booked into the Clark County Detention Center.
