REIDSVILLE, N.C. — The extreme heat hitting the Triad this week isn't keeping high school athletes off the field, but it is adjusting some of their practice schedules.

On Monday, WFMY News 2 traveled to Reidsville High, where the Rams were trying their best to stay cool in some pretty uncomfortable conditions.

Monday marked the start of mini camp for Reidsville's football team. At 6 p.m., players were still inside lifting weights, all because it's too hot to train outside. Once temperatures drop a few degrees, they'll head out to the field for practice.

During heat waves, Reidsville head coach Erik Teague told WFMY News 2 his team avoids practicing in the middle of the day, instead pushing sessions later in the evening.
