SIOUX CITY -- A South Sioux City man was arrested early Saturday on suspicion of assaulting a woman and stomping on her head at a Sioux City home.

Sioux City police responded at 2:16 a.m. to the 1400 block of Summit Street after a female 911 caller reported she had been beat up and a man tried to kill her.

Upon arrival at the scene, officers found the victim and the suspect, identified as Ahmed Hassan, outside. According to court documents, Hassan fled on foot and hid under a tree, where he was later found.

The woman told police she had been communicating with Hassan on social media and they met at the Summit Street house. The woman said Hassan asked her to perform a sex act, and then assaulted her after she told him no.
