An illegal fishing net was seized from a river in Sussex.
Thanks to an intelligence report from an Angling Trust voluntary bailiff, officers from the Environment Agency and Sussex Inshore Fisheries and Conservation Authority were able to respond and seize the net that had been set across the tidal River Adur, close to Shoreham.
A number of bass were caught in the net and, while some live fish were released, the dead fish were retained for evidence, Sussex Fisheries said.
