A police officer and a civilian were shot outside an office building on Park Avenue on Monday. The incident occurred at 345 Park Avenue, where the suspect reportedly took his own life after fleeing into the building. He was found deceased on the 33rd floor.

The conditions of the victims have not been disclosed. In response to the shooting, the office building, which houses the headquarters for Blackstone and the NFL, has been placed on lockdown.

New York City Mayor Eric Adams advised residents to steer clear of the area, describing the situation as an "active shooter investigation." The New York City Police Department has also urged the public to avoid East 52nd Street between Park Avenue and Lexington Avenue due to ongoing police activity.

The NYPD warned, "Expect emergency vehicles & delays in the surrounding area," through a social media post.

FBI personnel have arrived at the scene to assist with the investigation, according to FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino. New York Governor Kathy Hochul has been briefed on the situation as it continues to develop.
