ATLANTIC CITY — Police have added officers to patrol an Inlet neighborhood and beach that has been the site of several large gatherings of teenagers, including what authorities and neighbors called a "flash mob"of more than 100 juveniles July 18.

Inlet resident Tom LaMaine raised the issue during the July 23 CitiStat meeting, where department heads discuss progress addressing issues affecting neglected properties, beautification efforts, fire safety, community programs and public safety.

LaMaine spoke during the public portion of the meeting. He said the issue of unruly teen parties in the Inlet around the Caspian Avenue beach had been building over the summer, starting with a July 4 gathering on Maine Avenue between Caspian and Melrose avenues.
