LARAMIE — Jared Harris was a highly-touted recruit coming out of high school in Silsbee, Texas.

The 6-foot-2, 178-pound guard earned a four-star ranking and was rated the No. 86 player in his class by On3.com . The high praise came after a dominant senior year when he averaged 21.4 points, 5.8 rebounds and 5.2 assists per game. His 309 field goals that year ranked No. 45 in the country.

As a junior, Harris averaged 18.6 points, 5.4 rebounds, 4.2 assists and two steals.

His steady improvement during his prep career led to offers from top basketball schools across the country. Those offers included Auburn, Houston, Illinois, Kansas, Kansas State, Texas, Texas A&M and Texas Tech, among others.
