ROCK SPRINGS -- Even a ferocious windstorm didn’t hinder dreams of becoming a well-known performer in Wyoming.

Eight singer-songwriters from around Sweetwater County sang their own songs in the Rock Springs regional round for a statewide music competition in Bunning Park on Saturday, Aug. 2.

The 8th annual Wyoming Singer-Songwriters Competition will be in Ten Sleep during Labor Day weekend.

Judges for the Rock Springs regional round included local musicians Steve Davis, also known as Zephyr Grey; Amy Morrigan, vocalist/bassist for Atlas Falls; Samantha Zampedri, lead vocalist for ZamTrip and Wyoming Singer Songwriters founder Jon Gardzelewski. They decided who will advance to the semifinals competition which will be located in Ten Sleep.
