A male victim was killed in a shooting in Algiers early Tuesday morning, according to the New Orleans Police Department.

Police went to the 3500 block of General De Gaulle Drive in the Behrman neighborhood before 2 a.m. and found a male who had been shot. The victim's age was not released by police.

He was declared dead on the scene by New Orleans EMS, police said.

Police released no further information.
