A Covington man was arrested Thursday on a count of sexual abuse of an animal and five counts of possessing child sexual abuse material, according to Attorney General Liz Murrill.

Joshua Frank, 31, was booked into the St. Tammany Parish jail, Murrill's office said in a news release.

Agents with the Louisiana Bureau of Investigation began investigating after receiving a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, according to the Attorney General's office.

The news release did not include additional information. The investigation is ongoing.
