New Orleans attorney Vanessa Motta, indicted in a scheme to stage car crashes for large insurance payouts, is now accused of violating her bond when she traveled to a casino in Biloxi, Mississippi, to gamble.
Federal prosecutors asked a judge to revoke Motta's bond or forbid her from gambling, accusing her of misleading authorities so that she could leave the state and gamble at Beau Rivage Casino, according to court documents.
Records allege that Motta has gambled $836,401.81 at the casino's slot machines since January 2020.
Casino records show that Motta went to Beau Rivage twice in 2025 without requesting permission to leave the state, federal prosecutors said. Later in the year, she was granted permission to travel two other times after allegedly misrepresenting her trips to the c
