CHARLOTTE, N.C. —
The Carolina Panthers had a special visitor at training camp on Monday. Days before he begins his 17th fall camp as head coach at Clemson, Dabo Swinney spent the day in Charlotte, catching up with former Tigers wide receiver Hunter Renfrow.
The 29-year-old receiver, who caught the game-winning touchdown with a second remaining to clinch the 2016 National Championship against Alabama, is attempting to make a comeback with the Panthers after stepping away from football last year due to ulcerative colitis.
The autoimmune disease which Renfrow says he started to feel the effects of in the 2022 season, caused the South Carolina native to lose more than 30 pounds last year.
But Renfrow, who lives in Greenville, got healthy last fall and started training for a second chance
