EAST BATON ROUGE PARISH, La. (WAFB) - A woman has been arrested after allegedly buying a Lamborghini and plastic surgery while receiving Medicaid benefits, authorities said.
According to the Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill, Candace Taylor, 35, was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison for alleged Medicaid recipient fraud.
Investigators said Taylor allegedly applied for Medicaid benefits in May of 2029 under the alias “Candas Sailor,” reported her income as $1,900 bi-weekly, and claimed no benefits. This application was denied, but Taylor applied again in 2020 using the same misspelled name, according to authorities.
According to Murril’s office, Taylor had multiple businesses between January of 2020 and December of 2024 that brought in more than $9.5 million across many
