GRAFTON, Ill. – When temperatures are soaring, there’s no better place than a waterpark. As summer draws on, many are trying to beat the heat with a trip to Raging Rivers in Grafton, Illinois.

“The heat seems to drive people,” Jeremy Hayes, Raging Rivers Waterpark manager, said. “It’s cool when it’s hot. The heat seems to bring all kinds of people in. We do try to recommend sunblock and things like rash guard. We do put out misters for the heat and try to keep the concrete cool for people to walk on.”

The Great River Road has been referred to as the Mediterranean of the Midwest.
