A Kansas City man faces assault charges after he allegedly followed his ex-girlfriend to a bar and shot a man she was talking to in a parking lot.

Ivory Bridgewater faces one count each of first-degree assault resulting in physical injury or a special victim and armed criminal action, according to Jackson County court documents.

Kansas City police officers were dispatched to Waldo Social around 10:30 p.m. Monday, where they located a male victim with six gunshot wounds to his back, according to a probable cause affidavit in support of Bridgewater’s arrest.

A female witness told officers she was playing kickball at the park earlier in the day, according to the affidavit. Bridgewater was also at the park.
