TEMPE, Ariz. — Arizona State football head coach Kenny Dillingham wants the 2025 Sun Devils to have a tough side and a softer side.

By toughness, he's envisioning physical, smashmouth, block the opponent into oblivion.

By soft, he means together, bonded, and in touch with how fellow teammates are feeling.

On the eve of fall camp, Dillingham detailed those goals.

"I want our guys to play the game with passion, toughness and physicality," he said.

Dillingham wants his team to make physicality its personality—in his view, a defining characteristic of most successful teams.

"How do you want somebody to describe us? Cute? Is that how you want it? Or do you want to be described as a dude who straps it up?" he said.
