CHICO — Another Chico State fraternity received a suspension following a hazing investigation during the spring 2025 semester.
The university placed Phi Kappa Tau, Beta Omega Chapter, on a one-year suspension that will end after the completion of the spring 2026 semester, according to a letter the university shared with this newspaper.
This is not Phi Kappa Tau’s first time receiving penalties after an investigation. In 2018, Chico State placed Phi Kappa Tau on probation after members drank alcohol with prospective members. In 2005, the fraternity made national headlines after it received sanctions from the university for having members participate in a pornographic video filmed at the chapter house.
After each probation period, the fraternity was allowed to maintain its affiliation wit
