A Ryanair passenger took an innovative approach to avoid potential excess baggage charges when preparing for a flight with his family of nine.

Known for their stringent carry-on bag policy and associated fees, the airline's rules prompted Neil Armstrong to create his own version of the airline's sizer cage using cardboard and tape.

In just 15 minutes, the 54-year-old father-of-three had constructed a makeshift sizer to pre-check the dimensions of his family's hand luggage, ensuring they wouldn't face any costly surprises at the airport, reports the Daily Record .

A video shared on TikTok shows Neil diligently crafting the sizer to the exact specifications of 40x20x25cm. The clip, posted by his daughter Imogen (Immy) Armstrong, 20, has since gone viral, amassing over 200,000 views.
