NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) -- Nearly a year after a member of a Tennessee Department of Transportation trash pickup crew was hit along Interstate 65, Nashville authorities announced a woman had been charged in connection with his death.
On Aug. 16, 2024, a TDOT spokesperson said a contracted employee who was picking up bags of previously collected litter on the shoulder had been struck near Crieve Hall at mile marker 76 on I-65 North.
According to an affidavit, Raymon Cruz-Sanchez was brought to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with life-threatening injuries, but the 49-year-old died on Oct. 6, 2024.
