It’s been a good Last Summer On Earth for Barenaked Ladies, and finishing the tour at Pine Knob Music Theatre has become something of a tradition for the Canadian quartet.
“It is the encrusted jewel in the buckle of the Barenaked belt,” BNL co-founder Ed Robertson says via Zoom of the venue his band has played more than 20 times, and where it recorded its 2007 concert album “Talk to the Hand: Live in Michigan.” “It’s really what wrote the first story of American success for Barenaked Ladies, playing in Detroit and ultimately, of course, Pine Knob. It’s a home away from home for us.”
BNL — Robertson, drummer Tyler Stewart, bassist Jim Creeggan and multi-instrumentalist Kevin Hearn — has taken out yet another complementary Last Summer package this year, joined by fellow ’90s hitmakers Suga
