President Donald Trump said Wednesday that he’ll impose a 25% tariff on goods from India, plus an additional trade tax beginning Friday, because he says India’s purchasing of Russian oil is extending the war in Ukraine. He says Friday's launch of revised tariffs on the goods Americans buy from multiple countries is firm.

Meanwhile, Texas Republicans unveiled a new congressional map that would make it easier for the GOP to win five more seats and retain its House majority despite an expected voter backlash in the next elections. And Trump, amid a growing outcry to address starvation in Israeli-controlled Gaza has yet to reveal details about new food centers he said he would push Israel to create to “make sure the distribution is proper.”
