MT. JULIET, Tenn. (WKRN) — Authorities in Mt. Juliet have initiated a search after license plate recognition technology alerted them to a wanted man.
The Mt. Juliet Police Department said officers found an abandoned truck behind a home in the 800 block of Guill Road on Wednesday, July 30, after receiving an alert from the Guardian Shield recognition system.

According to officials, the vehicle belonged to 40-year-old Ronald Smith, a man reportedly wanted out of Cookeville for sexual exploitation of a minor.
