IDAHO FALLS, Idaho — Logan Beard homered in the first inning, and the Glacier Range Riders kept the Idaho Falls Chukars grounded from there for a 5-3 Pioneer League baseball win Tuesday night.

Beard’s solo home run, his seventh of the season, put the Range Riders up for good. Their lead increased to 3-0 in the sixth inning on RBI singles from Kingston Liniak and Joshua Rego, and to 4-2 in the seventh on Xavier Casserilla’s sacrifice fly.

In the ninth inning Glacier added an unearned run — TJ Clarkson reached an error, and pinch-runner Kyle Ashworth scored on Eli Paton’s one-out single — for a 5-3 lead.

Rayne Supple worked a 1-2-3 ninth, striking out one, to earn his fifth save for the Range Riders.
