LOVELADY, Texas (KTRE) - Will Kirchhoff took over the Lovelady football program in 2019, and since 2021, the Lions have won nine games or more each season.

On Wednesday, Kirchhoff joined East Texas Now to talk about last year and discuss the upcoming season. Kirchhoff says he was proud of the team’s effort last year and it’s a testament to the type of kids in Lovelady.

“Week after week, the kids came into work and made sure they were ready for the challenge at hand. They’re a fantastic group of kids and they play the game the right way,” Kirchhoff said. “I think that the culmination of the whole season, the way that they handled themselves, the effort that they put into it and everything they did for each other, as a coach, that’s all you can ask for.”
