BAY CITY, Mich. (KTRE) - Hemphill’s Marshall Hughes followed up a big day one with a solid day two to place himself in sixth headed into the Knockout Round of Major League Fishing’s Toyota Stage 7 in Saginaw Bay on Friday.

Hughes, Todd Faircloth and Jeff Sprague all advanced to the Knockout Round.

On day two, Hughes caught 23 fish for 53 pounds, 15 ounces to give him a 2-day total of 62 fish weighing 147 pounds, seven ounces. Hughes sits in sixth place headed into Saturday. Jasper’s Todd Faircloth caught 31 fish on day two, weighing 74 pounds, 13 ounces. Faircloth’s 2-day total of 55 fish for 134 pounds, 12 ounces is good enough for 10th place. Wills Point’s Jeff Sprague had a monster day on the lake. Sprague caught 35 fish for 91 pounds, 11 ounces to propel himself in 17th place after a
