Six days after allowing eight earned runs in 3.1 innings, the 38-year-old Darvish cruised through New York's lineup. Darvish allowed a first inning single to Mark Vientos, before retiring the next 13 batters he faced.

Darvish wrapped up his best start since his season debut on July 7th, allowing just two hits and no walks while striking out seven. He needed just 76 pitches to get through seven frames.
