HOUSTON — With less than 24 hours until the trade deadline, the Houston Astros have made a deal.
The team traded for third baseman Ramón Urías from the Baltimore Orioles. In exchange, Houston is sending minor league pitcher Twine Palmore to Baltimore.
The Astros have had more than their fair share of injuries this season and one player who may be out for an extended period of time is third baseman Isaac Paredes . Bringing Urías to town would help fill that void.
So far this season, Urías -- a 2022 Gold Glove winner -- is batting .248 with eight home runs and 34 RBIs. He’s played in 77 games, 68 of those at third base.
Paredes was batting .259 with a team-leading 19 home runs and 50 RBIs in 93 games for Houston before the injury. This is Paredes’ first year with Houston, coming over
