MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas — Houston Texans safety Jimmie Ward was arrested Thursday on a warrant out of Montgomery County .

According to court records, Ward, 34, was arrested on the felony warrant just after 5 p.m.

His lawyer said Ward violated a bond condition tied to his initial arrest and isn't facing any new criminal charges.

The attorney said Ward didn't realize he couldn't drink alcohol.

"Jimmie did not realize it was zero tolerance for alcohol. He tested positive in a urinalysis," defense attorney Steve Jackson said.

When the court saw the positive result, Ward was ordered to spend a night in jail. His attorney said he "fully accepted the responsibility for it, he went and turned himself in yesterday, and was released this morning."
