A man died after he was struck by a vehicle Wednesday night in the Behrman area of Algiers, New Orleans Police said.

Police were called to a crash in the 3500 block of General DeGualle Drive at 10:40 p.m. where they found an injured pedestrian who had been hit by a car. The man was taken to the hospital where he later died.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing and no further information was immediately available, including whether the driver of the vehicle stayed on the scene.
