Plans to build 100 flats on a former Arnold Clark site in Strathbungo are recommended for approval next week.

Officials at Glasgow City Council have suggested the car retailer's plan for its old dealership on Nithsdale Drive can go ahead.

The developers want to erect a building with seven floors and four common close entrances. Councillors will consider the scheme at a meeting on Tuesday (August 5).

Planners have received 23 objections to the project, including from Cllr Jon Molyneux and the Strathbungo Society. Concerns have been raised over the height and design of the building as well as increased traffic, pressure on parking in the area and the lack of affordable housing within the plans.
