A man killed in an early morning Algiers shooting this week was identified by the Orleans Parish Coroner's Office Thursday.

Thurmon Joseph, 33, was found dead by New Orleans police in the 3500 block of General De Gaulle Drive just before 2 a.m.

Investigators determined that Joseph was shot at the 1300 block of Southlawn Boulevard and transported about a mile away to General De Gaulle, where the initial call to police was made.

The investigation is ongoing.
