A 4.3-magnitude earthquake shook parts of Southern California, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

The about 3-mile deep quake hit about 4 miles west from Muscoy in San Bernardino County at 9:32 a.m. Thursday, July 31, according to the USGS.

More than 6,500 people from as far away as El Cajon and Ramona reported feeling the earthquake to the agency.

Users on X, formerly known as Twitter, were quick to comment on the tremor, with one calling it “ a rather strong jolt .”

“(Of course) I thought it was going to be the big one ,” one X user wrote.

“ House is still standing , nothing on fire,” another user wrote. “I’m going back to sleep.”

Muscoy is about a 60-mile drive east from Los Angeles.
