Leicester City are preparing for their first Championship game of the season next weekend when they face Sheffield Wednesday at home. The game is scheduled to take place on Sunday, August 10 with kick-off at 4.30pm.

It is due to be Marti Cifuentes ' first competitive match in charge of the club following his appointment just a couple of weeks ago. But the situation at Sheffield Wednesday could put the game in doubt.

A late payment of wages has led to the club being put under a three-window transfer embargo by the EFL. It has also seen stars Josh Windass and Michael Smith cancel their contracts with just 16 senior players remaining.
