ASHBURN, Va. — This time last year, Jayden Daniels was in a true quarterback competition with veteran Marcus Mariota . This year, it’s Daniels’ offense and he knows it. He’s more confident out of the gate, more vocal and still impressing coaches with how hard he works.
In fact, he’s on the field so often, Daniels is losing track of days.
“It’s only been a week of camp? Sheesh," Daniels said after Thursday's practice. "It felt like three weeks.”
He’s lost his sense of time, but Daniels hasn’t lost his focus.
“There’s a standard we set on the offensive side and I’m the one that’s got to uphold the standard," the quarterback said. "If guys are false starting, it’s the next guy up, stuff like that. Even for me, it’s like holding myself accountable. I mess up, I look to Zach, I’ll look
