Dare County communities get $735K in state grants for coastal resilience projects

Several Dare County towns and the county itself are among the 32 communities receiving a total of about $6 million in grants as part of the state’s Resilient Coastal Communities Program, the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) announced recently.

The grants are designed to help “communities to strengthen their resilience to increasingly hazardous weather events,” the DEQ said in a release.
