GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) - Defensive quality control coach Wendel Davis might not be a household name to the average Packers fan, but he’s quickly becoming one inside the hallways at Lambeau Field.

Dubbed the “Ball King”, Davis is the face of defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley’s emphasis on forcing and recovering more fumbles in the 2025 season. In 2024, Green Bay’s 14 fumble recoveries ranked 3rd in the NFL. This year, Hafley isn’t hoping to just exceed that number, or their 31 total takeaways - he wants the most in the history of the NFL.

“Wendel Davis does a great job getting up and presenting every day,” head coach Matt LaFleur said. “We call him Ball King here so if you see Wendel around make sure, it’s no longer Wendel, it’s Ball King.”
