The Texas football team returned to Denius Fields for its second day of summer practices Thursday. The Longhorns again opened their doors to the media for a viewing period of about 40 minutes, which gave reporters another opportunity to see plenty of action.
Here are three observations from Thursday’s open period.
Ryan Wingo misses open part of practice
Sophomore receiver Ryan Wingo, who’s expected to be the top target for Arch Manning , missed the practice window that was open to the media for personal reasons, according to a Texas spokesperson. The 6-foot-2, 215-pound Wingo has drawn praise from head coach Steve Sarkisian and his staff for his offseason development, and he’s projected to move into a starting spot this season after serving as the fourth wideout last season.
