Brothers Jeff and Paul DuVilla have created a contest that has people trekking through parks and the outdoors in search of a treasure worth nearly $4,000.

The pair created a treasure hunting game called “Veil,” in which players pay $10 to $20, depending on the game, to receive daily clues pointing to where a treasure might be. Each successive day of the contest, the circle pointing to where it might be found shrinks. Clues can vary from riddles to historical questions or map-based hints, the brothers said.

The DuVillas built their game around their shared passion for the outdoors as well as similar hunts, they said.
