The Everett AquaSox (50-48) couldn’t recover from six scoreless innings to open Wednesday’s contest with the Eugene Emeralds (56-42), falling 6-4 after a late rally. The AquaSox scored all of their runs in the final three frames, thanks in part to three homers to right center field from Luis Suisbel (1-for-4, HR, RBI, run), Anthony Donofrio (3-for-4, HR, RBI, run) and Colt Emerson (2-for-3, HR, 2 RBI, run).
The first two frames were especially challenging on Everett’s offense, as the AquaSox were retired in just six hitters across both innings. For the pitching staff, things got dicey in the fifth. Starter Ryan Hawks (4.2 IP, 5 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 2 BB, 4 K) dropped to 9-5 on the season with the loss, giving up three of his four runs on a shot to left center field by Eugene’s Jakob Christian. T
