BILLINGS — It may have taken a little while longer than they would have liked due to a weather delay, but Gillette, Wyoming, will be playing in an undefeated semifinal at the American Legion Baseball Northwest Regional Tournament for only the second time.

The Wyoming State AA Legion baseball champion Roughriders (52-26) won a highly-competitive 4-3 game over the back-to-back Montana State AA champion Missoula Mavericks (55-25-1) in the second round on Thursday at Dehler Park.

The game was interrupted by a thunderstorm that moved through downtown Billings at approximately 5:25 p.m. and resumed roughly an hour later with Gillette leading Missoula 4-3 after five innings.
