Conor Coady is set to become Leicester City’s first sale of the summer with the centre-back making progress on a switch to Championship rivals Wrexham.

Coady, who had been the subject of interest from Rangers in July, now looks like he will stay in the EFL, but will join ambitious Wrexham, who are into the second tier after three successive promotions.

It’s understood a deal is on and Coady is likely to depart the King Power Stadium after two years with the club, and with one year remaining on his current City contract.

Sky Sports report that Wrexham’s bid for Coady stands at £2m. With the defender’s £7.5m switch from Everton on a three-year deal amortised at £2.5m a year, a £2m would count as a slight loss for City in terms of profit and sustainability rules.
