A chance for time off and relaxation before Labour Day weekend is right around the corner.

In Hamilton, the Civic Holiday on Monday, Aug. 4, honours city founder George Hamilton.

Most city services are closed for the holiday, while big box, grocery stores, pharmacies and department stores remain open, some at reduced hours.

Here is a list of what is open and closed on Monday.

Retail

Four Beer Stores will remain open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Monday: 282 Parkdale Ave. N. , 1111 Barton St. E. , 673 Upper James St. and 959 Fennell Ave. E.

Three local LCBO stores are open: 233 Dundurn St. S. (11 a.m. to 6 p.m.), 657 Upper James St., Unit 106 (10 a.m. to 8 p.m.) and 971 Fennell Ave. E. (11 a.m. to 6 p.m.). Visit lcbo.com to find the nearest open location.
