HOUSTON (KIAH) - In the Atlantic, tropical development remains limited for now due to a large plume of Saharan dust moving westward. The dry air carried by the dust is not favorable for storms to form, which is good news for the Gulf and Caribbean regions.
Over in the eastern Pacific, Tropical Storm Gil is currently moving northwest at 16 mph with sustained winds of 60–65 mph. It is expected to weaken and become a remnant low by the time it nears Hawaii next week.
No immediate threats to Texas, but we're keeping an eye on any potential changes.
