Atlanta Police Department confirms suspect is dead.

Earlier Friday, an alert from Emory University went out advising of an "active shooter" at the CVS on campus.

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. - Police have provided details about the person who they say opened fire inside a CVS store at Emory University’s Atlanta campus on Friday.

The Atlanta Police Department confirmed that the gunman who opened fire inside a CVS store is dead.

In a press conference at 7:45 p.m. ET, officials said the shooter was a white male.

Police Chief Darin Schierbaum said the suspect was located on the second floor of the CVS building and had fired multiple rounds.
