Shawnee police arrested a man in connection with a stabbing at a barbeque restaurant Thursday, a spokesperson said.

The Shawnee Police Department responded to Hayward’s Pit Bar B Que, 10901 West 75th Street, around 1:30 p.m. on reports of a physical disturbance, a department Facebook post said .

A man allegedly stabbed another man inside a business, according to the post. The victim was taken to an area hospital and was in stable condition Thursday.

Just before 3 a.m. Friday, officers from the Shawnee and Lenexa police departments responded to a report of a suspicious person near 79th Street and Quivira Road.

Upon arrival, officers located a person who matched the description of the suspect in the stabbing.
