TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A family in Florida said federal immigration officers entered their home without a warrant and tossed about their furniture and belongings with no reason.
The U.S. Attorney's office said the family physically interfered with a lawful investigation.
Federal agents were looking for Marvin Isaac Caceres Maradiaga. Caceres is from Honduras and a federal judge ordered him to be deported in 2023, but he never left.
Federal officers came to a home on 41st Street in Tampa, and found Caceres, but authorities said the family tried to prevent them from making an arrest.
Brendaliz Fuentes, the stepdaughter of Caceres, denies the claim.
"When they came, they were saying to open the door and things like that and they tried to grab him and they pointed guns at him," Fuentes said
