Leicester City have completed their first sale of the summer with Conor Coady joining Championship rivals Wrexham.

The centre-back’s deal is said to be worth £2m to City and sees them start the process of trimming their bloated squad ahead of the new Championship season.

Boss Marti Cifuentes is keen to cut down his group to a manageable number, with 30 players used in his first three pre-season games and with more to return from injury.

Coady, who had one year left on his City deal, had been a target for Scottish giants last month but will stay in the EFL, joining ambitious Wrexham, who are back in the second tier after three successive promotions.
