SEATTLE — City leaders announced a lawsuit Thursday against the Trump administration over two executive orders that Seattle officials say endanger civil rights protections and critical federal funding.
Mayor Bruce Harrell and City Attorney Ann Davison said the orders target diversity, equity and inclusion programs as well as protections for LGBTQ+ communities — putting at risk at least $370 million in federal funding for Seattle projects.
Projects at risk include the J Line bus rapid transit, the 130th Street Sound Transit connection, and Vision Zero safety efforts, Davison and Adiam Emery, interim SDOT director, confirmed.
