PORTLAND, Ore. — Sunny weather dominates the forecast through the weekend and into next week.

An Extreme Heat Watch is up for Portland and Salem Sunday and Monday as valley temperatures surge into the mid to upper 90s. Forecast models show spotty 100 degree heat in the valley. The hot weather will also impact southwest Washington and the gorge east to Hood River.

Sunday and Monday are Weather Impact Alert days for the hot weather.

Cooler winds arrive as early as Monday night and Tuesday highs will be closer to 90 degrees, followed by 80 on Wednesday and 70s Thursday with a shower chance in the forecast.
