WASHINGTON — Nearly 200,000 model play kitchens are being recalled due to serious safety concerns that resulted in a child's death.
Backyard Kids, LLC of Plano, Texas, has issued a voluntary recall of approximately 192,000 KidKraft Farm to Table Model Play Kitchens, originally manufactured by KidKraft, Inc.
According to the recall, the play kitchens pose significant strangulation and asphyxia hazards to young children. The primary danger stems from hooks used to hold toy kitchen accessories, which can catch children's clothing if they climb on the counters or crawl through openings at the back of the units.
